There are so many peripheral in networking. For connecting computer on networking with others, we need a concentrator to do that. For example we can use hub or switch to do it. What about router? Basically router can do it, but router to expensive to use like that. Router can work more advance than connecting two computers. So we will choose between hub or switch.
Now what is hub and switch? In general, a hub is the central part of a wheel where the spokes come together. Hub make all our peripheral connected one to another. Hub work on first layer on OSI layers. So it use to broadcast all data to all port on that hub. Hub has one domain collision, this will cause a lot of trouble if some or any data collision appear.
Switch is a device that channels incoming data from any of multiple input ports to the specific output port that will take the data toward its intended destination. More than hub, switch has a domain collision on each port, so collision will be avoid. Switch work on second layer on OSI layer, it devide data on packet type. So if one computer want to communicate with others, it will give a dedicated path for two devices. So other path can be used by other device. It give a parallel function on switch to work on network.
Now, as the title of this post, which one we want to use on our network? I’ll give you points of each peripheral :
| Hub |
Switch |
| Work on first layer |
Work on second layer |
| one collision domain for all |
one collision domain for each port |
| Cheapest than switch |
expensive than hub |
For a huge network, it will be better to use switch than hub, because we will get a good and reliable network than using hub. Huge network will have a huge traffic too, so if we use a hub it will slow down our work.
But for a small network, example for 4 to 24 computer, it still can use hub to be a concentrator. It will cost cheaper than using a switch for it.
That’s all for this post, thanks

Do you ever using a service that give you fee to make a post about something? Or do you ever using payingpost.com? Maybe for a newbie in internet ( like me indeed ) this is a new service. But for other advance in this part, like problogger, it’s just like flipping your hand. Just make a post what the advertiser want, and you receive the money, like I do now.
OK, we will talk about blog advertising using blogadvertisingstore.com. If you a member of payingpost.com, this is really same, or we can say it’s nothing different.
Our first step is have a blog. This is the important part, because it’s like a store for us to show our post. Next we sign up to be a member in blogadvertisingstore.com. Always make update on your blog to give you more opportunities and make more money. More traffic and pagerank you have, more money will be added to your account. For your information, we receive the payment via paypal, so you have to had a paypal account.
That’s all folks, now we have to make an action, do it now! don’t wait until you have a good knowledge about blogging or other, but do it know.

Understanding how networks work on a basic level is fairly simple but can quickly become complicated, especially true if you are unfamiliar tonetworks functions. While there will be differences between hard wired and WiFi networks, the basic ideas behind this is very similar. In order to fully understand all of the different complications and complexities that come with computer networks one must start at the beginning.
The most common type of physical connection between computers is through Ethernet. Ethernet uses category five, or Cat 5, cable and an RJ 45 jack to connect up. The cable inside this is usually crossed over, meaning that physical connections on either end are different yet interchangeable. This allows for a better signal and longer length of cable.Once this physical connection has been established the two computers can now talk back and forth. Any computer that has a physical link with the router can now talk to any other computer that has a physical link to it as well. Understanding these basic concepts will allow you to visualize any of the millions of networks around the world.
Now that you have the computers connected up they need a language to talk to each other, is called in a protocol. Over the years many different protocols have been developed, but the most common networking protocol used today is TCP/IP. Others from the past include SPX, IPX, as well as a host of other proprietary ones. While you will find them in use on occasion, TCP/IP is by far and away the most common of all the networks around the world. TCP/IP is actually a combination of two different protocols that work in tandem. TCP, or Transfer Control Protocol, describes how files will be transited between two computers.
Using this protocol, computer can take files and break them down into tiny packets that can be received and built back into the file by the computer on the other end. IP, or Internet Protocol, describes the location of the computer. Each computer that in networks needs to have an IP address. This address will let other computers on the network know where the computer is. Each computer however does not have a unique IP address. This is where things start to get a bit more complicated and understanding how networks work together gets a bit more interesting.
The IP address of every computer will contain four different numbers ranging from zero to two hundred and fifty five. A typical IP address may look something like this: 192.168.1.100. No two computers on the same network can have the same IP address, although two computers on two separate, non public networks can have the same IP address. This does not mean that two computers with the same IP cannot communicate, in fact more than likely the computer your are working on right now shares an internal IP that is the same as many other computers out there in the real world. In order to understand why this is the case you need to be able to visualize how these computers interact. The world wide web is one singular network. Every computer on this network has its own unique IP address. There are certain addresses that cannot be on the world wide web. It’s called as private network address, use in intranet.
This is the basic knowledge about networking, its just a simple for you to learn it.

Every computer that communicates over the Internet must have an IP address according to this article It seems look like our address in the real world. If we want to send a letter to our friends, we have to know her/his address first, so mr. postman not confuse to deliver it. There is two types of IP address, they are static and dynamic.
Static means that IP will be configured by the owner, and never change until the owner change it. This type ussualy use in point-to-point connection. But we have to consider, one IP address just for one computer, so remain that another computer use another IP address. If one IP address used by two computers, there will be make confuse to communicate, because we can not determine wich one.
Dynamic means that IP will be automatically configured when computer boot. We need a server, called DHCP server, that assign IP address to all computer in network. With this, we don’t need to manually set our IP address. Just turn on your computer, you will have an IP address.
There are a lot of types computer communicate each other, but the base type is one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-many.
In this article we can see a brief description how to connect to internet using IP address.

Life without surfing the Web is as unthinkable as life without the telephone. No matter what you’re doing in any given day, whether it be shopping, checking the weather, or catching up on the events around the world, we all have a tendency to go online to get the scoop on these matters.
Whether you’re thinking about starting your first Internet connection or you want to get the most out of your existing connection, knowing how to accomplish this can boost that connection and make your web surfing much more enjoyable.
If your starting out for the first time, you must find an ISP or Internet Service Provider in your area that serves as a middleman between your PC and the Internet.
Once you have found yourself a reliable ISP, you have two choices of Internet connections. The slower of the two is the Dial-Up connection but its also the cheapest. If you can afford to pay a higher monthly fee, a broadband connection is the way to go.
Whichever connection you have or start first, it can probably run faster with a little optimization. In order to improve your current Internet connection, it would be to your advantage to know your current connection speed.
Check this by running a Speed Test at such sites as PC Pit Stop at www.pcpitstop.com and if you’re running a broadband connection, try Broadband Speed at www.band withspeedtest.com and another is Broadband Reports at www.broadbandreports.xom/stest. Continue Reading
